Also, Solaris 8 added the "-f" (force) option to umount.  You can null out
an entry in the kernel with adb if you are sufficiently brave in previous
versions, though I would not recommend this.

AIX had umount -f for over a decade.  Kudos to Sun for getting with the
program.
