[SunHELP] help needed about invironment

Hi list!

i have a problem with danish characters such as fxe in solaris 8
my /etc/default/init file look like this
TZ=MET
CMASK=022
LC_COLLATE=da_DK.ISO8859-1
LC_CTYPE=da_DK.ISO8859-1
LC_MESSAGES=C
LC_MONETARY=da_DK.ISO8859-1
LC_NUMERIC=da_DK.ISO8859-1
LC_TIME=da_DK.ISO8859-1
LANG=da


and i have no problem with fxe when im logged in as root., as the system
takes it invironment from the sym link /etc/TIMEZONE.

But when i try to set those invironment in the .profile ofr another user it
wont allow me to use the speciel characters.

Is there some place i should place those settings so it works for all users
on the system
