the best way to upgrade would be to wipe and do a fresh installation of
Solaris 8.
the Veritas (I assume Volume Manager) you refer to is rather old. For
Solaris 8, you would need to upgrade to vxvm 3.0.x, and I believe that
would require the purchase of a new license for each server.
Depending on your requirements, you can forgo using vxvm and use DiskSuite
4.2.1, which is included with Solaris 8.
