A keyboard does not have to be attached. It's not an error if it's not
there.

Do you connect the laptop to ttya, then turn on the system via the key in
the front? When you turn it on, you should see "Hardware PowerON"
displayed.

Also, whenyou turn the key on, turn it to diag mode.
