Are there any speed limits to it? I mean does it have to be a 12x plextor
cd-rom or can I put a 36x or even a 50x plextor in it?

I've recently had to purchase a cdrom for an Ultra2 so I could boot the son
of a gun ;-). There is a sun cdrom bootable slash compatability FAQ out
there somewhere. I ended up buying an plextor 12x off some dude on ebay for
20 bucks. The key , as I recall, to buying a cdrom for your sun machine is
that you must be able to set the 'BLOCK' device. This means there is a
jumper which you can set on the back of the cd-rom. Apparantly all plextors
are bootable and recommended. I would recommend getting a used plextor
because it worked or me.
