[SunHELP] Xsession.wm file problem

Ok, maybe I'm being dense here, I can't find
any more FAQs to read. If this is a "dumb
question", my apologies. This is my second
try, if you get Deja Vue reading this.

Given:
Solaris 7/SPARC with wm2 run from
/usr/dt/config/Xsession.wm

I managed to get all my environment variables
set up by putting all the "VARIABLE=..." and
"export VARIABLE" stuff in my Xsession.wm file,
but I would really prefer to set them from
.profile or a shell script in the home directory.
So far, all my attempts to do this have failed.

I have a strong feeling that I am going about
this the wrong way. Could someone point me
in the right direction?

I am currently the only user of this machine,
but I want to give some other students accounts
on it so we can collaborate on projects better.
I would like to give them the ability to set
their own environment variables, and still be
able to use the wm2 window manager, which clearly
offers a performance advantage over dtwm.

(Also, since wm2 is unconfigurable without
recompiling, one more potential distraction
is eliminated. Since over half the students
at my college have Attention Defficit Disorder,
including myself, I think we will get much more
work done if we can't zone out for half an hour
fooling with the window manager configuration.)

Thanks,
-Mike
