[SunHELP] painfull lesson of gigabit, solaris and Oracle

After suffering some Oracle problems I've traced the problems to an upgrade
to gigabit on the E4500's that Oracle runs on.

Symtom: Oracle hangs when busy. Also, high Ierrs count on ge0.

Problem #1. Solaris won't negotiat flow control with a Catalyst 6500.
Perhaps other switches would share the same problem.
Solution: force negotiation on the the switch.

Problem #2. Solaris needed a patch to properly support the gig interface.
Solution: Install patch.

Problem #3. Oracle is way too sensitive to momentary network issues.
Solution: ????

Maybe this will save someone else some trouble.
