Considering this is for "HOME USE" you might want to try DNSman (must be
running a web server with the ability to run cgi scripts)
http://www.xsta.cc/dnsman/
Really sucks on security (zones must be writeable by apache (owned by
nobody) and named must be ran by nobody).
But since it's only for home use - go for it. You can get away with
running named as root but you must turn off "auto refresh db" under
DNSman conf and manually issue "kill -HUP named (in.named)" when ever
you're done modifying your zones or named.conf.
timmy!

If you really want to get quick, why not use /etc/hosts for BASIC name
to IP mappings. I don't know what you are looking to do, but I know
that's a fast solution.

Subject: [SunHELP] DNS setup on Solaris 8
Can anybody recommend me where I can find information about how to
configure DNS on Solaris 8 quickly? I am configuring for my personal
needs at home, so something simple is good enough.
Thanks,
Elly
