Subject: [SunHELP] Slow ftp session
Hi,
I am recently installed a Solaris 8 in SUN Ultra 5 system. It has a embedded
hme NIC interface. Installation went through fine. But when I try to do a
ftp test, I get a terrible result. I never completely downloaded one file
because it takes too much time. The SUN system is connected to the CISCO
switch, the interface performance should be alright. But I am getting
0.03k/second ftp download. The target host is also on the same swicth. I
have tried to manually set the switch to 100fdx, and also the hme statements
in the /etc/system files. The change doesn't make any different. I also
tried a new PCI hme NIC interface but no change. I am sure the system will
do better than this, I may be missing something a configuration somewhere. I
am not sure this problem is related to NIC card or the kernel. One more
thing, the 32 kernel and 64 kernel make no different of the results.
