Great, now what if the CD-ROM doesn't work? :) When I type that, the =
machine just hangs, however I can interupt with STOP A. There is no =
CD-ROM activity light on during this process. Another message said to =
check to make sure there was a devalias or something.
Thanks!
Mike

Bring the system down to the OK prompt
boot the machine from any Solaris CD media with the command "boot =
cdrom -s"
exit to a shell command
mount the root file system of your boot disk to /mnt (eg, mount =
/dev/dsk/c0t0d0s0 /mnt)
cd /mnt/etc
vi shadow
remove the encrypted password for root
save the file and reboot from your boot disk.
Good luck
Ashraf

Hi guys, thanks for everyones help with my last email. I'd like to =
know if it's possible to reset the single user password somehow? We got =
a machine from another office, and the guy that admin'd the box is no =
longer with the company.=20
This is on a Sun ultra enterprise 2, 300mhz machine. I belive the OS =
version is 5.5.1.
Thanks.
