Recovering Crashed Sun Blade 100 SystemI believe you need Solaris 8 4/01 =
or later to install on Blade 100's.
I have a Sun Blade 100, which has problems in booting. Due to a =
improper shutdown, the disk is not booting up now. It=20
attempts to boot and then gives the following error messages=20
INIT: /etc/inittab turncated or corrupted=20
INIT: Cannot create /var/adm/utmpx=20
Failed write of utmpx entry=20
INIT: Single user mode, type Control - d or give root password to =
proceed=20
The no keyboard entries are being accepted. The num lock , scroll =
lock and caps lock keys are responding.=20
But when we give the root password or attempt to use control d for =
normal startup, nothing works.=20
Also I tried to boot with a cd, but it does not through. I have a =
normal solaris 8 boot cd and it does not work for=20
Blade 100. So is the media different for Sun Blade 100, if yes then =
whats the part number for it, so that I can order=20
the same from Sun.=20
