Have you considered setting up Veritas Netbackup/Legato Networker/HP
Omniback(maybe) server on the NT box and then pushing the appropriate =
client
software out to the unix boxes? Granted most people tend to run the =
server
components at the unix end but there's no reason why it shouldn't work =
the
other way around.
I'm guessing cost is a deciding factor here.

No, unfortunately a have no media device in the SUN, that's why a have
to do a remote backup to a device attached to a windows machine.

do you just need to change media formats? for example
dat to ait etc.? I found a "nifty" utility (there's a
tech term for you) called Tape Copy from NovaStor that
works real well in the NT environment just to move
data from one format to another.....it doesn't care
what's on the tape...regards
