You can roll the MetaDB into another metadevice (such as a concat/stripe) as
long as you add it first. Instructions are on the sunsolve disk:

What's the best layout for metadbs on a twin disk system? I put 3 per disk
in the hope that following a disk failure and reboot the system will
restart. Can't remember where I heard the "3 or a majority" advice and can't
find it on sunsolve, so I might be completely wrong 8-)
