Try this ::

# /usr/platform/`uname -i`/sbin/prtdiag -v

srvsol1:jacobh> uname -a
SunOS srvsol1 5.4 Generic_101945-61 sun4m sparc

srvsol1:jacobh> prtconf -V
prtconf: illegal option -- V
prtconf [ -v ] [ -p ] [ -F ] [ -P ]

I'm trying to discover the version (or revision) of the boot prom without
rebooting. I did a
prtconf -v and I got this:

srvsol1:jacobh> prtconf -v
System Configuration: Sun Microsystems sun4m
Memory size: 96 Megabytes
System Peripherals (Software Nodes):

SUNW,SPARCstation-5
    System software properties:
        name <relative-addressing> length <0> -- <no value>.
        name <MMU_PAGEOFFSET> length <4>
            value <0x00000fff>.
        name <MMU_PAGESIZE> length <4>
            value <0x00001000>.
        name <PAGESIZE> length <4>
            value <0x00001000>.
    packages (driver not attached)
        disk-label (driver not attached)
        deblocker (driver not attached)
        obp-tftp (driver not attached)
    options, instance #0
        System software properties:
            name <ttymodes> length <36>
                value
<0x0000250200001805000000bd00008a3b031c7f150400000011131a19120f171600000000>.

    aliases (driver not attached)
    openprom (driver not attached)

(...rest deleted...)

That last line I think may be the problem. My questions are:

-- which driver needs to be loaded and which package is it in
-- where can I get prtdiag
-- why does my version of prtconf not allow the -V ? is it just an old
version? How do I get that
version?

Yes, I'm new to sun stuff :)

TIA

Jake
