Hi
There should be variety of devices in /dev/rmt such as 0, 0n, 0h etc. Each
of these refers to the tape drive 0 and then sets the options, normally 0c
is the rewind with compression option for the tape drive, so use it as
follows eg
ufsdump -f /dev/rmt/0c /usr
Regards
Peter

Subject: [SunHELP] howto: compressed backups
We've got a Sun Enterprise 4500 here with a Sun DLT7000 tape drive attached
to it. The capacity of the drive is 35GB (compressed 70GB). My backup at
the moment is at the 35GB mark and is not making it onto the tape. How do
I make a compressed backup? I am using ufsdump and see no compression
option. The mt command also doesn't show any compression options.
Any help would be most appreciated.
