SO, I think my question imply that my host is solaris already.
My host run solaris 2.6.

I believe on most systems, this is built into the kernel. Not sure if it's a
standard for hosts to reply to echo requests. You could setup a firewall and
block unwanted icmp requests.

What are you trying to do? What operating system is this host? How is this
relevant to the Sunhelp list? :)
