Hi

I would normally do the following as have had problems before

ufsdump 0f - <old device> | (cd /newdev ; ufsrestore xf -)

I shouldn't respond to myself, but.... ;-)

# mount <new device> /newdev
# ufsdump 0f - <old device> | cd /newdev ; ufsrestore xf -

plus some other options.
