Hi all,
i have 4 SUN-AXMP-Server , always 4 cpu's (from 300MHz to 450MHz) with 2 or
4 GB RAM, 4 GB swap under Solaris 7 with the newest recommended
Patch-Cluster. Only one of these machines - the newst with 4x450MHz CPU -
has sometimes - 1 to 2 times a day - a great problem.
This machine becomes very slow. No messages are displayed in the console, no
failure in the applikations, no core-files, no heavy cpu utilization ratio
in the process-manager or proctool, but very heavy i/o seen with iostat and
on the leds of the hardware-raid. There is also no failure reported in the
hardware-raid-controller event log.
Is there any possibility to locate the process making this heavy I/O ?
thanks Michael
