Does anybody know a workaround to assign static port numbers to an RPC
program?. I am referring to the  well known issue with dynamic port
assignment by portmapper and firewall configuration. Even though the issue
is discussed widely I couldn't find a decent workaround for this problem
anywhere. My RPC server program runs on solaris 8.

Any help on this is greatly appreciated.
