[SunHELP] Not able to configure tape drive without reboot the m/c

Hi all,

     I  installed  tape drive (dds-2).Now I  want to replace that drive
with DLT tape drive. I  tried the follwing commands to install the new
DLT tape drive.(online)
#drvconfig
#tapes
But is is not updating the entries in  /dev as well as /devices.
If I do #touch /reconfigure then reboot it updates the entries in  /dev
and  /devices files.
