If you are not purchasing it for a business, you can freely download
Solaris 8 from sun to install on up to 99 CPUs (individual computers
that is) without being required to purchase a license for the software. 
That is, as long as binaries are okay for you.

If you are purchasing it for business, Sun is still the place to get it.
