Hello,
There can be 100s of different reasons behind this IO wait. One has to know
more about the DB layout, structures, Ora tunable, OS tunables, what kind of
work is being done on the DB at the time and so on and so forth. The list is
long. It involves every hardware and software component. My best advice to
you is to get DB Tuner from Precise software. call your EMC rep and they
will direct you in right direction. Trust me it is a great tool. Any
solution provided to this problem by some one who do not know your env can
be detrimental to your system.
For starters though, you need more memory, or tune and re-tune your init.ora
untill you get some perf gain.
