Suggest changing /etc/system to read

set pts_cnt = 1024

Sounds like you have lots of eager users.

Subject: [SunHELP] /dev/pts problem

Hello all,

Does anyone knows why sometimes users receiving
error "Unable to get pty" when they are trying
remotely login into server.

The server is running Solaris 7.
Within "/etc/system" we have line
" set pt_cnt = 512 ". Also if I do
"ls -al /dev/pts | wc" I'm getting
exactly 512.

Permission on /usr/lib/pt_chmod is 4111.

And if I count "pts/N" thru command "who"
usually it's way below 512.

Any suggestions is greatly appreciated!

Regards,
Ed
