Hello,

I have some questions for autofs.

1)After running  /etc/init.d/autofs start,  I only find that automountd is
in the process list but not automount. According to the autofs script both
should be started. Can anyone tell me why?

        /usr/lib/autofs/automountd \
                < /dev/null > /dev/console 2>&1         # start daemon
       /usr/sbin/automount &                                  # do mounts
        ;;
2)Since automountd and automount are independent of each other, can anyone
tell me in what case I only need to run automount or automountd, but not
both by running autofs start although it is safe to do so?
