Hi Fernando
Assuming your tape is plugged into a SCSI controller and at the ok prompt
issuing a 'probe-scsi-all' shows the tape as being seen. Try 'boot -r' at
the ok prompt to reread all of the devices. You should then have a device in
/dev/rmt.

Subject: [SunHELP] How to Backup? (I don't find /dev/rmt directory)
Hi all,
Please tell me how to preserve backup data of the whole system disk on
DDS3 tape. I don't find /dev/rmt directory (it doesn't exist!!). Our system
is Solaris 2.6 running on ULTRA30(sparc).
Thank's in advance,
Regards,
