On my database server one of my partitions I got this error:

** /dev/rdsk/c2t0d0s3

BAD SUPER BLOCK: BAD VALUES IN SUPER BLOCK
USE AN ALTERNATE SUPER BLOCK

USE: FSCK -F UFS -O B=# [ SPECIAL ...]

I used the above command and specified the # to be 32 which was a back up
super block that I got from running newfs -N /dev/rdsk/c2t0d0s3 and it
began to print out:

Unknown File Type:
Partially Cleared Inode:

over and over and over again. I read that answering yes to the above errors
will cause you to lose data.

My Question:

When I get the BAD SUPER BLOCK error at the top of this message, what am I
supposed to do? Am I doing the right thing? After I use the alternate
super block I still can't run a regular FSCK against the partition, it will
still report for me to use an alternate.

Please help Gods....
