In reality AirPort base station has two interfaces, one is the "wired"
Ethernet port and the second one the "wireless" 802.11 port.

Subject: [SunHELP] Single NIC NAT box possible?

Hi there folks,

Just helped a pal setup his home network yesterday...

Cable modem<Dynamic IP via DHCP>----H U B----AirPort Base Station
                                    | | |
The rest of the machines (NAT & DHCP via the AirPort Base Station)

AirPort base station is Apple's wireless LAN base station with 1 10/100 port
and 1 V.90 port (here we're using the NIC)

Wondering if there's a way for me to subsitute the AirPort base station with
a single NIC SPARC LX to provide NAT & DHCP for internal machines as the
AirPort base station (minus the wireless LAN access of course).

I know I should able to do something with 2 NIC and ipfilter but is it also
possible using a single NIC?

I'm opened for suggestion on OS on the LX-have access to Solaris (2.6, 7, 8)
NetBSD (never install before) and RH6.2 SPARC media.

Thanks in advance,

Tim
