I'm currecntly experiencing some trouble with a Linux (2.2.16, SuSE7.0)
NFS server and a Solaris 2.6 client.
- Creating a symbolic link will result in a lrwxrwxrwx directory
entry with the correct size (the name of the file referenced),
but without the "-> name" addition in the ls -l listing.
"file symlink" will result in an error.
Sometimes the client system will think that symlink is a directory.
- Applications may open a file, but cannot write to it, because
"it's not there". Of course, it is :(
Patch 105720-08, which addresses NFS problems with Linux servers, has
been installed (-03 is required, will -12 change things?).
Ideas?
Steffen, still waiting to switch to Linux $HOME server
