Hi Daubigne, Christopher thanks for your replies.
File systems are okay too. They are not mounted with nosuid option. I really
do not have any clue.
Dale, Dennis, Magnus, Nicholas, ... do you have any clues please?
Thanks

If the execute bits were not set, the the permission flags would be :
-rwSr-lr-
instead of
-rwsr-sr-x
(Note the uppercase "S" and the "l"). So I guess the executable bits were
set.
Did you check that the /tmp FS was not mounted with the nosuid option (check
/etc/vfstab) ?

Ravi,
When you implemented the setuid/setgid tags to this file, did you
also
implement the execute right (x) to the this file as well.
Example:
chmod 6755 /tmp/auto
-rwsr-sr-x 1 build cm 640 Dec 27 19:09 /tmp/auto
The file that you are applying the setuid and setguid tags to must
have
execute rights applied as well. Hope this helps.

Subject: [SunHELP] Need help setuid/setgid
Hello,
User "rkatti" (myself) belongs to "sw" group and I am trying to run
a
script(bourne shell) as a user "build" who is part of "cm" group
with proper
setuid/setgid. But still when I execute the script, user is not
switched. Am
I missing something here ?
Any clues pointers will be highly appreciated.
-rwsr-sr-x 1 build cm 640 Dec 27 19:09 /tmp/auto
Thanks & Regards
Ravi
