[SunHELP] core install

ok so i am re-installing (again) so i'm wondering is there's a way to do
a core system install (without X, but with some extras) from cdrom. if i
do a full install, after installing the first cd, it reboots, goes into
the graphical install menu again, and installs the rest of the requested
packages.  obviously if i don't install x, it has a hard time starting x
when rebooting.

is there a way to do a text based install and / or is there a way to
install the rest of the required packages?

i don't want to install X or other unnecessary stuff, but is it safe to
just install the rest of the packages i need by hand?
