[SunHELP] rc*.d links

are there any perl / shell scripts for solaris similar to the debian
linux 'update-rc.d' script?  i find this script quite useful for
removing / adding links.  presumably it wouldn't be too difficult to
edit the debian script to work on solaris.

also what is the reasoning behind using hard links rather than soft
links for the links to scripts in /etc/init.d/?  just to make sure that
the file doesn't get removed if it's still in one run level, or is it a
historic reason?
