Just make one for root and put the line "PATH=3D$PATH:<desired_path>" in
there.

thanks for the help but unlike other users which have .profile in
their home
directory, i did not find .profile in root directory which is home dir.

users. I can add a directory to PATH variable for a session but i wan't

include it in path permanently.
