[SunHELP] Full restore with Veritas Netbackup

A little off topic, but I am hoping it will be a quick one.

This is on a solaris host so I thought I would throw it out for some
suggestions.
I need to test our backup system by doing a full restore of one of our
dev boxes and In the manual for Veritas netbackup it states that to do a
full system recovery and restore / filesystem, that it is necessary to
load OS on separate disk load the client on that disk then load OS on
first disk, restore to first disk then make first disk bootable. =20

That would not be too big of a deal but I don't have access to a second
disk.
Could I just drop to init S and mark all files from / and start recover?
It is obvious that there may be issues with open files or overwriting
system files that are in use is there a way around using a second disk?
