You need a SCSI hard drive for your Sparc 10 - an IDE drive won't work. No
worries - SCSI HDs are plentiful (and inexpensive) these days. For your
Sparc - you don't need (nor will you find) a floppy boot image. To install
Solaris 8 you need a supported CD-ROM reader, the Solaris 8 CD-ROM, and a
little know-how. The know-how can be found on the sunhelp site in the FAQs
section, and with a google search. The CD-ROM can be sources from Sun -
either download the ISO or buy the retail pack. The CD reader needs to be
SCSI as well - capable fo 512 byte blocks in order to boot the system from
the CD-ROM.
