Can you give any details at all? The above isn't of much
help to you.

If you have set up your network information statically,
then your Solaris box got its network information from you.
Did you mean that it is set up differently?

You don't need any updates or patches unless that is the
only way to get a driver for your NIC. But you state that
that isn't the case.

Posting this request isn't of much use if you can't give
any details. Like _what_ have you configured? What
steps/configurations did you do on the Linux system that
you didn't do on the Solaris system? What is the output
of the debugging that you did? (i.e.- "netstat -rn" and
"ifconfig -whatever", etc...)
What are you doing to test connectivity to the Internet?
Have you tried reaching a site via its IP address instead
of using the domain name (in case you didn't configure
hostname lookups properly)? Have you tried running snoop to
see if you can detect _any_ traffic over your connection?
Are you using the same cat5 cable on the Solaris system
as you did with the Linux system? Etc...

p.s.- I just received this email, you may want to fix your
system date unless you really did post this email on
July 29.
