Small overview: There are two ways a Solaris package can be distributed.
One is a single file, like the way packages from Sunfreeware.com
are distributed.
These are installed by running
pkgadd -d ./path/to/file.pkg
You may need to decompress the package first.

cd /cdrom/cdrom0/Solaris_8/Product
pkgadd -d `pwd` SUNWmoo
