[SunHELP] [Q] anyone know "Robotic Automation and/or 2nd drive" on VeritasNetbackup?

Most likely someone else on the list is familiar with the exact product you
have
purchased, but I am not.
However, I have used many backup products, some include robotic control
with the main package and some do not.
There are other alternative software packages. Some are MUCH more expensive
& a very few are less expensive, but IMO you generally get somewhat less
than
you pay for with all of them.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I'm 99% sure that in order to back
up
your open database files you will also need the Oracle software piece
(unless you put the database(s) into backup mode prior to initiation of
backup).
If you don't have that software or (again) put the database(s) into backup
mode
your backup will be completely useless. A DBA can advise you better about
that.
What you need to purchase depends on your performance requirements.

Does that mean "Netbackup Business server for Solaris" -- $5000 product
can NOT drive a Autoloader? I need spend another $2000 for "Robotic
Automation and/or 2nd drive" license to drive a autoloader? it does NOT
make sende to me.
