I am trying to turn up SIMS on an Netra 1405. I have installed Netscape Name
services for use by SIMS on the same machine. The trouble is when I try to
install SIMS locally, it does not see the local host name. Normally, when
you get to the name server screen the host name is pre-populated with the
local host name. In my case it is blank.
A few data points:
1. If I specify the local host name as either LOCALHOST or the fully
qualified host name it doesn't see the name server.
2. If I point to another server with a name server it is okay.
3. If I install SIMS on another server and point at the troublesome machine
it is okay.
4. I've installed both on another server without troubles..
It is only when I try to install both on this particular machine.
I've traced DNS on the name server and it does go there and query the I/P. I
think something is wrong with the DNS in this environment. I know the
easiest thing to do would be to re-install everything from scratch but it is
a NETRA 1405 and it is at a remote location. I have limited support at the
site and a full re-install would require a road trip.
Thanks for any input.

I think it's a 68 pin SCSI 3?
Thanks,
