Sorry that was a typo;

frodo [root] # echo $LD_LIBRARY_PATH
/usr/local/lib

Just compiled and installed ssh-1.2.27 works fine.

Not to sure what is going on with ssh-2.2.0, I have it on my sparcs with
solaris 5.6.

Anyone else had problems with ssh-2.2.0 on Solaris8 x86

 Is this a typo, or have you tried LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/whatever;export
LD_LIBRARY_PATH yet?
If so, have you also verified that the file exists, lives where
$LD_LIBRARY_PATH can see
it and that
the permissions haven't been altered on it?
