Well, it should be obvious that if your swap device, which is RAM-on-disk,
goes, any memory pages on it will go to, crashing any processes that
currently have pages in swap.

You other mirrored partitions might not do you much good in that case,
because the failing disk would be 100% compensated for, and your system
will be mad. very, very mad.
