[Sunhelp] no NIS

Greetings,

I have many machines to maintain and I do not use NIS or NIS+. Having to
add new user accounts is a major pain. Is there an easy way to add users
on all systems without having to log into each one.

I though about keeping the passwd,group,shadow files up to date on one
machine, making all changes there and then scp them to all the other
systems. Is this a safe pratice? Also this does not take care of creating
all the user home directories for me. Is there any easy way to do all
this?
