How do you find a job as a Solaris admin in SoCal? Three simple steps.

Step 1) Make up a resum with the word "Solaris" anywhere on the paper.
It could be the only word on the apaer apart from your name and phone
number, or it can be accompanied by other words, such as "Known Fellon" or
"Narcoleptic with Turretts Syndrome" or "Layabout and Ne'er-Do-Well".

Step 2) Dress in full riot-armor and as much padded protective athletic
gear you can lay your hands on.

Step 3) Toss your resum into any technical recruiter's office, and
start running. The first yuppie to run you down and bludgeon you unconscious
with job offfers is probably the most motivated, and will cut you the best
deal.

It's not at all hard in this day and age to get a job as a Solaris
admin, and most places should be willing to meet you halfway with training,
so long as you have a basic proficiency. (IE: do you know how to fire up vi?
Do you know how to quit once it's fired up? Have you installed Solaris? A
patch cluster? Changed an IP adress? Scheduled a cron job? Congratulations!
You're qualified as a junior admin!)
