[Sunhelp] HP SureStore418 with Sparc Solaris

Just a quick note- If the drive has already been through a 'boot -r' then
after modifying the st.conf file do the following:
modinfo | grep st, find the st module, field one is the ID
moduload -i $ID
modload st
This will unload and reload the st (SCSI Tape) drivers with the new st.conf.
Just a way to prevent having to wait for the system to reboot ;-)

When you do a probe-scsi-all from the openboot prompt, what ID string
does the drive return? Here's the sample drive ID strings for Quantum
and Sun (actually Quantum) DLT drives in the /kernel/drv/st.conf file:
# "QUANTUM DLT7000", "Quantum DLT7000", "DLT7k-data",
# "SUN DLT7000", "Sun DLT7000", "DLT7k-data",
# "Quantum DLT4000", "Quantum DLT4000", "DLT-data",
# "SUN DLT4000", "DLT4000", "DLT-data",
# "SUN DLT4700", "DLT4700 Library", "DLT-data",
If the HP just returns a different ID, you'd add a line to the
file that looked like this:
# "HP DLT4000", "HP DLT4000", "DLT-data",
Of course, you'd uncomment the above line, and the related "DLT-data"
line a few lines below, then "reboot -- -rv" or "touch /reconfigure" and
then reboot.
