[Sunhelp] Logical vs. Physical Block Size

Hello all,

I have some questions regarding block
size concepts.

When I execute the command 'df -g',
I see the block size info for each of the file
systems on the hard drive.

Using one of the file systems that displays a
block size of 8192 as an example, I have the
following questions:

1. Is the value 8192 the logical block size
or the physical block size?

2. For this same file system, when I create
a file, the minimum amount of space allocated
for a file is 2 blocks -- which for this same file
system is equivalent to 1024 bytes. Why is this
different from the 8192 value shown by the
'df -g' command?

3. In the event that the 8192 value displayed by
the 'df -g' command is the physical block size info,
is there a command that displays the logical block
size info for a file system?

I appreciate the time and effort given by everyone
who takes the time to read and respond to my question.
Please respond to the address below.
