AHHHHHHH!!!!  not NetBOIS!!  win9x!  Ahhh....  *ker-splat*

ok ok.  I guess the fear that I have a strong fear for those words and
happen to be standing near a large window shouldn't concern you.  

Anyway, no.  You only need to worry about DHCP.  I use a DSL service at my
home and it works with DHCP only.  No problem.  if you service does
provide shomething useful with windows-style file sharing, you could use
Samba and Sharity.
