According to Sun doc: 4169744, it's a problem with xntpd on the 64 bit OS.
>From that doc:

This is a 64bit kernel issue; a 32bit kernel on my Starfire testbed works
fine; but on a 64bit kernel I too get this error. I'm surprised to see this
P3 bug has not been assigned nor evaluated in over a month... ??? A quick
look shows that the usr/src/cmd/xntpd/xntpd/ntp_loopfilter.c file relies on
kvm for a system call bug workaround. This bug exists in 2.8 as well. I
don't understand NTP well enough to say how serious this is, but, it looks
to me like its pretty much broke on a 64bit kernel.

Thanks,
Steve

Anybody know what that last line means? This is the xntpd that comes with
Solaris 8 Beta_Refresh...
