Go to http://www.sunfreeware.com and get the following packages compiled for
your Solaris version and /usr/local:
- gzip
- unzip
- gcc-2.95.1a
- apache 1.3.9 (Source Code!!!)
All of them (except gzip) are .tar.gz archives and compiled to be installed
in /usr/local (except apache).
gzip must be downloaded with right-click and "save link as ...", then change
the name to remove any .txt extension (if you use Windows to download the
files).
Do an ftp in binary mode and copy gzip, unzip, gcc and apache to your
S1000-2.6 server under an empty directory. You will need about 100MB of disk
space.
cd to that directory and use pkgadd -d./gzip* to install gzip to
/usr/local/bin directory (add this directory to your search path).
After this you will be able to decompress correctly all gzipped archives.
Once you have this done, run tar -xvf as requested by .tar extensions.
