Does anyone have any idea on what causes this?
I forward it from my other cad-user list.
Thanks,

Subject: XGL on Solaris 2.6 w/r10 1999300
Hello all,
I am trying to use XGL on Sun, Solaris 2.6 patched current with CADDS r10
1999300. When I attempt to start CADDS I get lots of errors in the shell
window and CADDS does not come up. The errors are shown here:
Error - Bad version number [4] in fasload file 1126
Error - Unable to read the data from the fasload file
$40 - these are the kind with the dip switches to set monitor sense codes
(of course you have to configure the framebuffer to send the same
resolution/frequency as well).
What kind of monitor are you using? I had best results with a Sony 17" and
with a cheapie CTX VL700 17" that I got for $250.
I'm using a GDM20E20 Sun/Sony with my Ultra5 and on my Ultra1 at work right
now, and they're the best / nicest monitors I've ever seen. Currently going
for under $200 at many places as well, which is GREAT for a .25 dot pitch
20" multisync Trinitron monitor.
