[Sunhelp] No video output from ultra60

I got an Ultra60 at work.  It used to be someone else's so I know it works. 
But when I set it up, I couldn't get video output.  I am using a VGA monitor
with the adapter...the previous owner was using a sun monitor.  The machine
boots, I can hear it reading from the hard drive and I can reboot it with a stop
A boot command.  I get no video display at all and I can't get console output
either.  I assume I am doing something wrong when trying to get console output
but why is there no output from the video card?

Also, to get console output, do I connect to serial port A or the // port?
