Yep..
instead of using /dev/rmt/0 (or whatever)
use remotemachinename:/dev/rmt/0 in tar or ufsdump etc...

Subject: [Sunhelp] How to backup a filesystem on to a remote tape
drive.....
Hi,
Can anyone guide me that how can I backup a filesystem on to a remote tape
drive
on the fly
i.e. I don't want to mount the filesystem on to the remote m/c where the
tape
drive is located
using nfs.Is there any way out in which I can backup the filesystem on the
remote tape drive
without mounting the filesystem on the remote m/c.
Thanx in advance
